F-15 Flight Test Operations Engineer (Entry-Level or Associate)

The Boeing Company Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) is seeking a recent college graduate, or person with 1-2 years of experience, to join our high-performance engineering team on-site at the Eglin AFB, FL as an F-15 Flight Test Operations Engineer. The primary function of this position will involve providing engineering technical expertise to the United States Air Force in support of F-15 aircraft flight test activities. The principal focus of this position will be the testing of new electronics, avionics, sensors, weapon/armament systems, and system software upgrades on multiple variants of F-15 aircraft (F-15C, F-15E, F-15EX, and export versions). This position will require sitting in the cockpit of F-15 flight test aircraft performing complex engineering focused ground tests, systems operational checkouts, integration verifications, and troubleshooting of system problems aligned with specific development test objectives. Daily responsibilities will include planning, communicating, coordinating, and executing all aspects of the ground and flight test activities. Direct and frequent interaction will be required across multiple engineering groups, technical teams, and program managers. Additionally, you will assist with configuring the F-15 aircraft systems properly for each flight test mission, will help guide USAF Test Pilots in how to execute the test missions in flight, and will work closely with aircraft maintenance technicians to assist them with questions about the new systems under development. If selected, you will be personally involved in a wide variety of advanced technologies being integrated onto F-15 fighter aircraft within a work environment where innovative problem solving is embraced. Successful applicants will be provided with self-paced on-site training and structured experiences to aid in becoming a Subject Matter Expert on a variety of aircraft systems – ranging from onboard radar systems, electronic jammers, onboard computing systems, radar and IR guided missiles, GPS and laser guided ground attack weapons, satellite navigation/communication systems, and encrypted aircraft data networks. Position Responsibilities:

Aircraft configuration planning, on-aircraft audits, and records keeping Assisting with test point documentation and tracking Assisting with the creation of test mission profiles Assisting with writing and reviewing aircrew flight cards Attending aircrew pre/post mission briefings Providing real-time technical support during test flights from a ground control facility Writing various technical results reports Performing on-aircraft system checkouts Performing on-aircraft engineering mission assurance checks Performing on-aircraft troubleshooting of experimental systems for anomaly investigations and resolution Performing post mission video reviews Working outside in all types of weather conditions will be required Must be physically capable of climbing a vertical F-15 boarding ladder, and twisting/bending in order to enter/exit the F-15 cockpit Working temporary non-standard labor schedules (early mornings, late evenings) as needed to support flight test activities Attendance and participation in Program Review and Planning meetings Attendance and participation in USAF mandated flight test review boards Assisting with aircraft Mission Planning (JMPS) and pre-mission Data Module programming Occasional off-site support for meetings and deployed flight testing will be required (primarily to St. Louis, Holloman AFB, and Nellis AFB). Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science Willing to work variable shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 1 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Experience with tactical or fighter aircraft Experience in electronics development
