Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet customer expectations and comply with all applicable industry standards and regulations. This role involves developing and implementing quality plans, conducting audits, and collaborating with various departments to drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and analyze products and documentation to ensure compliance with customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. Troubleshoot and resolve in-house and customer-reported issues, including field returns, by investigating, evaluating, and implementing corrective actions in support of the Corrective and Preventive Action process. Conduct thorough data analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in product quality and process efficiency. Perform internal and external audits to assess compliance with established procedures and specifications. Collaborate with customers and source inspectors as required by contractual agreements to facilitate data analysis, audits, inspections, and tests related to product shipments. Coordinate quality plans with Engineering and Program Management teams for proposals related to prospective contracts. Assist in updating and enhancing inspection programs, checklists, procedures, and policies to comply with
ISO 9000, AS 9100, ISO
14000, and customer requirements. Contribute to a collaborative team environment by working effectively with colleagues from Engineering, Operations, Marketing, Program Management, and Human Resources. Engage in Kaizen and Continuous Improvement initiatives to promote operational excellence. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control roles. Knowledge and experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control methodologies are desirable. Certification as a Quality Engineer is preferred; willingness to achieve certification within 2 years is acceptable. Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly in written, verbal, and presentation formats. Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented mindset, and capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively. Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities are essential for teamwork and collaboration. Experience with Lean/Six Sigma principles is a plus. Familiarity with the aerospace and defense industry/products is advantageous. Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
