O&M Manager – Utility-Scale Solar & EV Infrastructure Direct Tower Services Atlanta, GA • Remote We are seeking a hands-on Operations & Maintenance Manager to oversee the performance of a growing portfolio of utility-scale solar assets and EV charging infrastructure . This lean in-house role manages system performance, subcontractor operations, and reporting across both asset classes, ensuring maximum uptime, safety, and ROI. This person does not perform fieldwork , but instead acts as the operational lead coordinating vendors, monitoring data, and driving accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
Solar O&M (Utility-Scale) Monitor production using SCADA or solar monitoring platforms (e.g., Power Factors, AlsoEnergy, Fluence). Manage corrective and preventive maintenance via subcontractors and OEM service providers. Review and approve subcontractor scopes, work orders, and invoices. Lead performance investigations, root cause analysis, and warranty claim processes. Track system KPIs (PR, availability, degradation, etc.) and generate executive reports. EV Charging Operations Monitor uptime and transaction data from EV charging platforms (e.g., ChargePoint, EV Connect, AmpUp, etc.). Manage subcontractors and OEMs for EVSE maintenance, diagnostics, and site repairs. Coordinate with network operators and utilities for interconnection and load management. Ensure adherence to uptime SLAs and support troubleshooting escalations from customer service. Maintain logs for each site’s hardware, software versioning, and firmware upgrades. Subcontractor & Vendor Oversight Build and manage a network of third-party service providers for solar and EV field work. Enforce safety standards, SLAs, and compliance protocols. Validate work quality through remote data and field reports; escalate repeat issues or gaps. Compliance & Safety Ensure all subcontractor activity is OSHA compliant and meets regulatory standards. Maintain service records for permitting, interconnection, and reporting audits. Reporting & Analytics Create monthly dashboards covering system health, budget tracking, ticket resolution times, and major events. Support asset management and executive teams with insights and capex/opex forecasts.
Qualifications:
5+ years in operations/maintenance of energy infrastructure, ideally across both solar and EV. Experience managing subcontractors and vendor relationships. Familiar with monitoring platforms for PV and EVSE systems; CMMS or digital work order tools a plus. Strong analytical and communication skills.
OSHA 30, NABCEP O&M
Specialist, or EVITP (Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program) certification a plus. Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
