Energy ManagerFac Serv Plant Operations Location:

New Orleans, LA Summary The Energy Manager has responsibility for identifying and implementing measures to reduce energy use at Tulane University, beginning on the university’s Uptown campus. This position maintains and analyzes energy use data, and uses these data and building audits to develop, prioritize and implement measures that reduce energy use and optimize building performance. These measures may include immediate adjustments and repairs, building scheduling, commissioning programs, occupant education, and retrofits. This work includes preparing program scope statements, specifications, and building data, as well as the solicitation and evaluation of proposals, and making recommendations for award. Program schedule, completion and inspection of work performed, and documenting resulting energy savings are also included in this position’s assigned duties. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or Facilities Management.
  • 4 years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional license in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Architecture.
  • Leadership and substantial professional experience with energy management, energy efficiency and sustainability programs, and managing projects and staff.
  • Current AEE Certified Energy Manager (CEM) credential and LEED AP (BD+C or O+M) or will be able to achieve both within first 180 days of employment.
  • Demonstrated experience in laboratory, research, or higher education facility operations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team player with the ability to develop awareness and enthusiasm for energy conservation with staff, students, and faculty.
