Job Description

Climate17 is working with an international renewable energy developer that is on an exciting growth trajectory. With over 15 years of developing large scale solar, wind and storage projects across the globe, they are continuing to expand their North American presence with this a key role in their team. Position Identifying, structuring, and negotiating PPA deals for renewable energy projects, building and maintaining strong relationships with large industrial customers, corporate buyers and other offtakers. This role would suit a commercially minded people-person with a background in renewable energy business development, project development, power marketing, consulting or advisory. Most importantly they would have some exposure to power purchase agreements (PPAs). The role has an exciting upward trajectory in a company that encourages career growth. Role Originating commercial opportunities Direct to Consumer (DTC), behind-the-meter with large industry customers. Collaborate across the internal teams and with external stakeholders, building strong relationships and trust. Taking a lead on power purchase agreements for large scale renewable energy projects. Leading on proposals, pricing models, and presentations. Ability to identify opportunities and evaluate associated risks. Skillset Solutions person with a clear understanding on how to find business opportunities for renewable energy projects. Strong sales acumen and driven people-person with a commercial mindset. Experience in renewable energy acquisitions, project development, or business analysis. Exposure and understanding of PPA negotiation and structuring. Understanding of US renewable energy markets, power marketing, regulations, and power sector dynamics, including RTOs, transmission, and generation technologies. 2-5 years of large scale renewable energy experience. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Location The position is hybrid and requires someone based in North Carolina (or willing to relocate with assistance) Salary and Benefits Salary banding: $120,000 – $150,000 base.
