The Role:
As a Solar Construction Manager, you will lead the planning, execution, and completion of solar energy construction projects. This includes managing crews, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with design, safety, and regulatory standards. You will play a central role in delivering projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources Coordinate construction activities with subcontractors and vendors Resolve scheduling conflicts or project delays
Team Leadership:
Supervise electricians, installers, and construction laborers Lead daily team meetings and safety briefings Manage subcontractor performance to meet project standards
Quality and Safety Assurance:
Enforce jobsite safety protocols and OSHA standards Conduct routine inspections to verify compliance with specs and quality Maintain site documentation and ensure corrective actions when needed
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure permits, inspections, and construction practices meet all applicable codes Track regulatory changes relevant to solar construction
Stakeholder Communication:
Serve as the main point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal project managers Provide updates on scope, budget, and timeline Address and resolve site issues or concerns promptly
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate construction records and reports Review change orders and approve construction-related invoices
Requirements:
Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Renewable Energy (preferred) 5+ years in construction management, with solar/renewables experience preferred Knowledge of solar systems, building codes, and safety standards Proficiency in project management and construction software Valid driver’s license; travel to job sites is required
