We are seeking a skilled and creative CAD Designer to join our team. This role is essential in translating project specifications and measurements into detailed CAD drawings for fabrication, ensuring the precision and quality of our products, and preparing necessary submittals.

Job Summary:

The CAD Designer is responsible for creating accurate and detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for the fabrication of custom aluminum products. This involves collaborating with the sales, engineering, and fabrication teams to understand project requirements, developing designs, preparing submittals, and ensuring drawings meet manufacturing standards and client specifications.

Responsibilities:

Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for custom aluminum products (shutters, railings, stairs, canopies, etc.) based on measurements, specifications, and design concepts. Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to clarify project requirements and design intent. Review and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) to develop accurate and manufacturable designs. {Preferably AutoCAD} Generate shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation drawings. Prepare bills of materials (BOMs) for manufacturing. Ensure drawings comply with company standards, industry best practices, and building codes. Manage and organize CAD files and drawings. Prepare and submit submittal packages, including detailed drawings, specifications, and other required documentation, to clients and project managers for approval. Collaborate with the fabrication team to address any design or manufacturing questions.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a CAD Designer, preferably in the construction or manufacturing industry. Experience with aluminum products is a plus. Proficiency in using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.). {Preferably AutoCAD} Strong understanding of design principles, drafting standards, and manufacturing processes. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Excellent spatial reasoning and problem-solving skills. Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Knowledge of building codes and regulations related to aluminum structures is a plus. Experience preparing and managing submittals is preferred. Associate’s degree or equivalent in drafting, design technology, or a related field preferred. Proactively identify and resolve potential design issues or conflicts. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CAD software and industry trends. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to design and drafting processes.
