We’re looking for a detail-focused CAD Technician – Low Voltage Systems to join our team and support the preparation of technical drawings and layouts for construction projects across multiple vertical markets. Position Overview The CAD Technician is responsible for producing and updating construction drawings and documentation for low voltage systems based on input from engineers, estimators, and project managers. This position plays a vital support role in preconstruction and engineering, ensuring that projects are designed and documented accurately to support installation and compliance with applicable codes. Key Responsibilities Draft accurate AutoCAD drawings for low voltage systems including fire alarm, security, CCTV, and data infrastructure. Interpret architectural and electrical plans to place devices, pathways, and equipment accurately. Incorporate red lines and markups from engineers, sales staff, and project managers. Maintain consistency with company CAD standards and ensure all drawings meet code and submittal requirements. Assist in preparing permit sets, submittal packages, and as-built drawings. Organize drawing files and manage revision history in the company’s project file system Coordinate with internal departments to clarify technical drawing requirements and resolve discrepancies. Qualifications 1-3 years of CAD drafting experience, preferably in the electrical, low voltage, or MEP trades. Proficiency with AutoCAD; Revit experience is a plus but not required. Ability to read and interpret construction documents, including floor plans, riser diagrams, and specifications. Familiarity with basic code requirements such as

NEC, NFPA

70, and NFPA 72 is preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Effective communication skills and ability to work within deadlines. Preferred Skills Experience supporting fire alarm or security system drawings. Basic understanding of bill-of-materials or device schedules. Comfort using Bluebeam, Procore, or similar project coordination platforms. Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple drafting tasks at once.
