CAD Manager – Transportation (Roadway)

Oversees all CAD operations for Bentley ORD and FDOT, including developing and maintaining LJA CAD standards with key emphasis on streamlining CAD Design process to maximize efficiency.
General Responsibilities:
Standardize CAD procedures across multiple offices
Transition users to Bentley ORD Updates
Troubleshoots problems
Trains new operators and up-dates training of computer technicians in various version of Bentley ORD or newer versions
Develops productivity tools
Works closely with IT to ensure company hardware and software are updated to allow proper CAD operation
Works closely with different departments to ensure client’s requirements are being met
Setup new projects
Setup and manage ProjectWise
Stay up to date with latest Bentley products and various client’s CAD requirements
Required Education /
Licenses:
Minimum of high school or technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting or equivalent experience
Required Experience:
12+ years of experience as a drafter, designer and computer technician
Competent in Bentley ORD and
FDOT CADD
Software
Competent in setting up and hosting ProjectWise
Technical knowledge of CAD operations and engineering specialty discipline
A resource person with knowledge of advanced applications of system hardware and software
Effective communication skills both oral and written
Effective interpersonal skills with coworkers
Ability to build strong relationships
Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or on a daily basis as changes occur in project needs.
