Drafter/Designer Position Available In Orange, Florida

Drafter/Designer Job Description We are seeking a Mechanical Drafter/Designer to join our Gas Design Team based in Orlando. This role primarily supports Underground Natural Gas Pipeline Design projects for utility companies across Florida. The position involves designing elements such as pumps, heat exchangers, flanges, valves, bypass valves, meters, and flowpipes. Responsibilities + Prepare computer-drafted natural gas pipeline as-builts and mechanical detail drawings. + Reproduce historic pipeline drawings in AutoCAD. + Generate bill of materials. + Work independently to complete tasks. + Print working drawings using a plotter. + Create estimated time requirements for projects. + Attend project-specific meetings to determine CAD schedules. + Save project-specific data on a daily and weekly basis. + Operate a scanner to duplicate project documents and scan field notes. + Complete pipeline ‘as-built’ drawings from field notes, historic documents, survey data, etc. + Complete 811 design requests and coordinate responses to obtain 3rd party infrastructure. + Verify and organize field visit survey notes. + Assist Project Managers as needed. + Maintain excellent client relations. + Maintain a safe working environment. Essential Skills + Proficiency in AutoCAD. + Experience in piping design. + Understanding of pipeline design. + Knowledge of underground utilities. + Mechanical drafting skills. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 – $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
