ARCHITECTURAL/ INTERIOR DESIGN DRAFTER SKETCH
a. Design Studio, an Interior Design successful firm. Their primary focus is on creating stunning interior spaces customized to the preferences and requirements of their clients, with a strong focus on residential projects. With expertise in kitchen and cabinetry design and installation, they transform houses into aesthetically pleasing, functional, and personalized homes. Seeks a talented and motivated Drafter to join our Design Team.
Ideal candidates will have 4-6 years of experience in drafting, preferable in field of residential interior design, preferably in the high-end residential sector.
I. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary role of Design Drafter is to deliver high end construction document who play a crucial role in translating design concepts into functional and aesthetically pleasing interior spaces during the construction phase:
Space Planning and Layouts:
Develop and finalize detailed space plans and layouts based on client requirements, functional needs, and design aesthetics. Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations related to spatial arrangements.
Technical Detailing:
Create detailed technical drawings and specifications for interior elements, including furniture, fixtures, cabinetry, and built-in components. Specify materials, finishes, and construction methods for each element.
- Coordination with
Consultants:
Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) engineers, and other relevant consultants to integrate interior design elements seamlessly into the overall construction plan.
Code Compliance:
Ensure that all interior design elements comply with local building codes, accessibility standards, and other relevant regulations.
Documentation:
Prepare comprehensive Construction Documents (CDs) that include detailed drawings, schedules, and specifications for all interior components. Provide accurate and clear information to facilitate construction, including dimensions, materials, and installation methods.
Quality Control:
Review and approve shop drawings and samples submitted by contractors to ensure they align with the design intent and specifications. Conduct on-site inspections to monitor the construction process and address any issues that may arise. Work closely with the project management team to ensure that the interior design elements are delivered within the specified budget constraints.
Material and Product Research:
Stay updated on the latest materials, finishes, and products in the market. Conduct research to identify suitable and cost-effective options for interior design elements.
Communication:
Effectively communicate design intent and technical requirements to contractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders. Respond to requests for information (RFIs) and provide clarification on design details.
Problem-solving:
Address and resolve any design or construction issues that may arise during the project. Propose alternative solutions when necessary to maintain the project timeline and budget.
Document Control:
Establish and maintain a system for organizing and managing all project-related documentation, including revisions and updates to Construction Documents.
II. SKILLS & CORE COMPETENCIES SKILLS
Interior Design or Architectural degree or active experience with the required tasks during undergraduate studies. Minimum of 4-6 years drafting experience Detail-oriented with a keen eye for aesthetics and precision. Mastery in Revit software is must. Proficiency in other relevant software tools, such as such as Auto CAD Adobe Creative Suite Additional software knowledge is a plus such as (Photoshop, Illustrator) for presentations and graphic design, Chief Architect,3D Max and Microsoft Suite. Knowledge of local building codes and regulations to ensure designs comply with legal requirements and safety standards. Understanding of various materials, finishes, and furnishings used in interior design, and the ability to make appropriate selections based on design and functionality. Ability to interact effectively with the design team on multiple projects. Experience with Tag sheets & Specification for bidding and procurement stage.
