The Electrical CAD Designer is responsible for reviewing sales orders to ensure accurate electrical design specifications and creating, maintaining, and updating electrical models, wiring schematics, and drawings, utilizing company approved software, to meet committed deadlines of products. The Electrical CAD Designer will collaborate with Project Managers, Sales Engineers, and Team Members to manage and create all drafted documentation associated with projects. Electrical CAD Designer will contribute to all elements of the project life cycle to include the gathering of project requirements, preliminary and final design, project monitoring and manufacturing support.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop new electrical systems for various electrical cabinet applications.
- Produce electrical schematics, and drawings for all electrical components.
- Produce CAD 2D and 3D models of parts, mechanisms, and structures for new or improved products, using industry, departmental and discipline standards, within the specified timelines.
- Work with other teams to obtain reference information for drawings.
- Work with project team to execute projects on time and on budget.
- Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to investigate and resolve problems with existing designs.
- Participate in engineering and manufacturing design reviews to evaluate design concepts and make recommendations.
- Revise drawings as necessary per Engineering Change Requests and provide guidance on additional time and expense for change to Mechanical CAD Designers, Sales Engineers, and Project Managers.
- Assist Sales Engineers with research and development for mechanical components.
- Source hardware and parts for mechanical components for assemblies.
- Assist in production support for issues pertaining to electrical schematics and 2D drawings.
- Create and update database of design records to assist other Engineers or Team Members.
- Oversee drawing all throughout the process to close, ensuring that each detail is complete and accurate. Follow up with others as necessary.
- Work productively as a Team Member with others to foster a strong team atmosphere.
- Develop manufacturing and assembly process documentation to support production builds.
- Actively participate in improving processes and systems.
- Consistently meet company set productivity guidelines.
- Adhere to Earnest Products Core Values, policies and procedures as outlined in the Associate Handbook and the Associate Safety Manual.
- Regular attendance is an essential job requirement to meet company productivity standards.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Electrical design experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering or related programs are preferred but not required.
- SolidWorks electrical and sheet metal experience preferred.
- Sheet metal design experience preferred.
- Must be a hands-on designer, willing to interact and assist manufacturing throughout the building process.
- Read/interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated reports.
- Understand weldments, weld callouts and sheet metal design.
- Self-starter with high attention to detail and ability to check the quality of their own work.
- Must be able to speak, read and write in
English Working Conditions :
- Office environment where heating and air conditioning are available.
- Occasionally go to the plant floor where safety glasses are always required.
Physical Demands:
- Able to sit for a long period of time.
- Must have full range of motion and be able to kneel and bend for short periods as task may require.
- Continuous use of your hands, considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, walking, stooping, handling materials and regular keyboard and mouse usage.
