Drafting/CAD Technician II Position Available In Catawba, North Carolina

Job Description:

Hybrid – remote mostly and on-site as needed (projects inHickory/Durham areas). Candidates must be able to come onsite tothe HIckory location as needed and be willing to travel to other NCsites as needed.

Job Description Minimum Education:

AAS in

Mechanical Technology or CAD Experience:

3 Years in related field.

Proficient with 3D modeling software, such as SolidWorks, Creo,Inventor, or AutoCAD.

Travel Requirements:

20-30% to Project/plantlocations and vendor sites as needed

Te Scope of Position:

Providemechanical design and technical support to engineers involved inthe design, development and testing of industrial process andautomation equipment. Assist engineers with the design ofmechanical equipment components using both AutoCAD and Solidworksor Inventor software. Create and updates drawings anddocumentation. 3D Modeling Produces equipment and processdocumentation (spare parts lists, SOP’s, machine specifications,etc.). Provide accurate estimates of the time required to completeassigned work. Produce equipment and process documentation (spareparts lists, SOP’s, machine specifications, etc.). Procure materialand process equipment using Incorporated approved processes.

Communicates and instructs field or vendor personnel on the properinstallation or assembly procedures. Day to

Day Responsibilities:

Makes initial design layouts of mechanical systems and subsystemsusing computer aided design under the direction of an engineer(2D/3D). Prepares complete assembly and detail drawings of robottooling, machine components and associated equipment. Preparesdocumentation packages (drawings and written materials). Createprototype parts using 3D printing. Compiles Spare Parts Lists.

Assist engineers with specifications for commercially availablematerial handling equipment and systems. Supports project teamswith estimates, tracks and reports costs, and project timelines.

Assists in preparing of training materials and training ofplant/customer personnel. Communicate technical ideas through theuse of graphic, written and oral media. Confers with vendors in thefinal selection of commercial components and writes purchaserequisitions.

Required Skills:

Proficient with 3D modelingsoftware, such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or AutoCAD Ability towork in a team-based environment and to contribute to a highlymatrixed project team. Ability to manage multiple prioritiesthrough sound planning and organizing. Ability to select standardmechanical parts from a vendor catalog or by contacting the vendor.

The ability to work independently without daily/weekly instructionsFamiliarity with machine guarding and safety standards (OSHA, ANSI,ISO) Knowledge of ANSI drawing standards (Y14.5). Machinedesign/equipment layout experience Ability to work independently tocomplete drafting and design tasks.

Able tocommunicate clearly to team members, vendors and the customer.

Willingness to be hands-on with design, testing, and assembly ofmechanical parts. Familiarity with drawing repository vault (EPDM)Experience working in a manufacturing environment. Technicalcuriosity Mechanical aptitude
