Design Drafter (NX) Position Available In Erie, New York

Job Description:

Design Drafter Contract 6-12 months M-F 40 hours weekly Positionis 100% ON SITE Tool Package, Siemens NX Individual contributorswith specialized knowledge and skills within a technicaldiscipline. May direct the work of other lower-level professionalsin the context of a project, process, or program. The majority oftime is spent overseeing technical design, implementation, ordelivery of projects, processes, or programs using technical skillsacquired through advanced education or equivalent work experience.

This job family is responsible for the engineering and technicaloperations of the organization and managing or performing researchand development. Activities include undertaking research, design,and development activities to improve the organization’s productsand services; designing, constructing, testing, and operatingequipment; ensuring that standards of quality, cost, safety,reliability, timeliness, and performance are met in productionprocesses; interpreting plans, drawings, and specifications;developing and testing theories on the properties of materials andingredients under various conditions; and scientific research orquality testing in a laboratory environment. Positions in thissub-family design product components or portions of a functionalsystem as part of a broader engineering solution.

Activitiesinclude:

creating layouts and detailing mechanisms, structures, andparts for a major/more complex product component, portion of afunctional system/manufacturing operation, or technically advancedprototype; researching ease of manufacture, availability ofmaterials and equipment, interchangeability, strength-weightefficiency, etc. and preparing cost studies for assignedcomponents; using Computer-Aided-Design/Engineering (CAD/CAE)software during the conceptual design process; identifying designerrors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommendingrevisions and/or improvements in design layout to engineers ordesigners.
