Full Job Description Job Description:

The AutoCAD operator prepares working plans and detail drawings for structure erection and demolition under the supervision of a Project or Assistant Engineer. Structure types include bridges, buildings, railroad facilities and industrial plants. Drawings will include a variety of construction equipment such as cranes, forklifts, jacking systems, and excavators etc. and work with a variety of materials such as steel, concrete, reinforcing steel (rebar), masonry and wood etc. Supervisor direction will come in the form of sketches, drawing markups, and verbal or written communication.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for producing high quality and accurate CAD drawings, maintenance and build out of the block library and continuous improvement of drafting standards
• Ability to communicate clearly with supervisor and/or clients and understand their direction and concerns
• Accountable for continual improvement of drafting skills / knowledge as well as understanding of project delivery and engineering standards
• Knowledge of drafting standards, mathematics and engineering technology

Minimum Requirements:

• 5+ years of latest full-version AutoCAD, including 3D, work experience
• Experience in any of the following fields – construction, civil, structural or geotechnical engineering – a “plus” for construction engineering
• Knowledge of drafting standards, mathematics, science, and engineering technology, along with a solid background in computer-aided drafting and design techniques
• Great written and oral communication skills
• Great time management skills
• Works well with others

The ideal candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively, in a team setting, with both co-workers and clients, from diverse engineering and construction backgrounds.
