JOB PURPOSE

The CAD Technician II provides engineering and data management support for the engineering department. This position reports directly to the Director of Product Development. As part of the product development team, the CAD Technician will be supporting our product development team, performing CAD model and Drawing updates. Additionally, this position will develop or assist in the development of new products and additional engineering activities as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Accountable for the creation and improvement of existing CAD models and drawings. Accountable for implementation of common drawing standards and templates for engineering CAD data. Supports sustaining and quality teams with CAD and Drawing support. Supports product development teams in CAD model and drawing creation. Support of projects including the development or advancements of design toolsets utilizing CAD best practices. Implement design changes by creating drawings and solid models through an ECR/ECO process. Contribute to Sustaining projects and R D projects in a team setting. Consistently follow safe firearm handling practices. Must be able to travel infrequently. All other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma and 3+ years of CAD experience. Proficient with 3D CAD modeling in Solidworks; Certified Solidworks Professional (CSWP) Preferred. Experience with large assembly models. Experience with drafting and GD&T. Experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to be organized and communicate across multiple groups to maintain models, drawing, and documentation. Working knowledge of drawing creation including creating functional dimensioning schemes and appropriate GD&T. Ability to work on individual initiatives and prioritize tasking to fit within the business goals. Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities. MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Firearm experience with handguns, MSRs, or other long guns preferred. Experience using and maintaining firearms and related products is preferred. Required to maintain confidentiality. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a high-volume manufacturing environment, working with chemicals, and handling with both manual and automated equipment and systems; and will involve working in a typical office environment. Specific job assignments may require day, evening, weekend, or holiday hours. Overtime may be required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Team members are constantly standing, walking, carrying, pulling/pushing, bending, seeing, kneeling, stooping, reaching, hearing, as well as handing paperwork, and computer and phone usage. Team members will be lifting objects weighing 50 lbs. or less regularly. Cleaning material and chemicals used regularly.
