TRISO-X, LLC

is seeking a CAD Designer responsible for design anddrafting of 3D models and 2D drawings that define various hardwareand layouts of equipment, structures, systems, and components tosupport the projects to which they are assigned. They willcoordinate the design, at the direction of responsible engineers,and perform a variety of design/drafting activities, includingpreparing/updating installation drawings for projects, preparingassembly/manufacturing drawings, and establishing guidelines andprocedures for Computer Aided Design (CAD) data management. Therole collects all drawings, data, and notes involved in a projectand constructs the final version of the construction project -specifying dimensions, codes, production methods, andmaterials.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with the responsible engineers to developmechanical/ physical concepts, designs, and processes to createstructures, systems, and components (SSCs) related to the projectto which they are assigned. Create relevant 3D CAD models and detailed 2D drawings ofvarious equipment, structures, systems and/or components (e.g.,Mechanical Components and Assemblies, Piping and InstrumentationDiagrams, etc.). Assist in the definition and development of system/componentgeometric interfaces. Assess models for manufacturability as well as assembly andintegration considerations. Create and check manufacturing technical data packs and 2Ddetail component drawings to ensure fabricated components areproduced in accordance with the design specifications. Ensure SSCs are properly designed and integrated into thedesign of the overall system to meet their component levelfunctions and requirements. Perform a variety of design/drafting activities for theengineering group including preparing and updating manufacturingdrawings. Serve as an information source on planning and design ofequipment installations: equipment and plant engineering. Maintain notes, design calculations and other documentation(like drawings, bill of materials, list of design parameters, andperformance guarantees) for future reference. Identify and follow best CAD modelling and drafting practices,communicating them with other team members to ensure thestandardization of practices. Engage vendors in the design and manufacturing of definedsystems and their related components. Show initiative in suggestingdesign changes and improvements to the design of components,factoring in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly(DFA) principles. Collaborate in planning, scheduling, and organization ofdetailed phases of engineering work. Establish filing guidelines for drawings to maintain up-to-datedrawings. Maintain system and model compatibility in X-energy’s ProductLifecycle Management (PLM) system. Provide ownership, responsibility, and accountability overtechnical scope involving the coordination of multiple individualcontributors working in a specific area. Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Minimum Education/Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in drafting, CAD, engineering or relateddegree from an accredited institution or High School Diploma and 2years of experience in a role with similar tasks/responsibilitiesnoted above. Typically, five years of experience in a CAD/3Ddrafter/designer. Familiarity with

ASME Y14.5

(or similar standards) forDimensioning and Tolerancing. Experience using 3D CAD software (e.g. UG/NX, SolidWorks, PTCCreo/Pro-E, or similar). Must have experience with plant 3D andelectrical Autodesk modules. Experience with P&ID drafting workis needed.
