Position Overview:
The Structural Designer will be responsible for developing precise 3D models and drawings, contributing to project planning, and ensuring structural integrity across all designs. This role collaborates closely with engineering, estimating, and manufacturing teams to deliver customized solutions that meet both client specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and maintain accurate 3D models and detailed fabrication drawings using SolidWorks. Review project specifications, technical manuals, and schematics to guide design decisions. Conduct research to ensure compliance with applicable building codes and engineering standards. Support design review meetings, incorporating feedback to optimize project outcomes. Coordinate closely with electrical designers to integrate structural and electrical components seamlessly. Prepare and revise drawings for engineering approval and assist in maintaining accurate bill of materials (BOM) documentation. Provide technical support to manufacturing teams during fabrication and installation phases.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. Proficiency in SolidWorks or comparable 3D CAD software is required. Experience designing structural components, steel structures, or similar industrial products. Familiarity with industrial electrical systems (e.g., transformers, distribution panels, transfer switches) is a plus. Strong technical drafting skills, attention to detail, and understanding of structural load calculations.
