Job Description
Control Systems Engineer
- Tracking and Targeting SystemsAs a member of the EOS Defense Systems USA’s Engineering team, the Control Systems Engineer is responsible for dynamically adapting EOS’s Remote Weapon Stations (RWS) to Specific customer equipment such as Vehicles/Platforms, Weapons, and any interfacing systems that can affect RWS performance.
This is achieved through a combination of dynamic analysis, testing and tuning of adjustable parameters and software.
This will occur at EOS facilities, Customer facilities, and test ranges both in the US and internationally.
This is an on-site position.
Minimum Requirements And Qualification
- BA/BS Degree in Engineering, computer technology and/or related technical experience required
- Minimum 1
- 3 years’ related experience
- Ability to demonstrate a history of involvement with complex hardware development, as well as with network architecture and design, in support of complex systems and projects
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with s trong math aptitude and exceptional attention to detail required
- Ability to successfully present technical information and defend positions is necessary
- Will require excellent command of common engineering computer languages/applications, as well as experience with common simulation tools and testing routines
- A detailed understanding of gimbals, structures, force application/mitigation, IR and visual sensors, and Semi-active laser sensors are also highly desirable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with good command of English language, is a fundamental requirement
- Ability to obtain / maintain a US Security Clearance and a US Passport
- Travel up to 50% first year then an average of 25% there after
- Ability to work in a cohesive team environment.
Major Responsibility Areas And DutiesAssessment of relevant dynamic characteristics
- Through measurement, modelling or assessment of customer data, establish the relevant dynamic characteristics of structures, mountings, weapons and any other interfacing systems.
RWS Control System Technology
- Develop and maintain high level of expertise regarding existing hardware and software methods of controlling the RWS systems and their usage in maximizing RWS performance.
System Tuning
- Conduct simulations, modelling, and testing to validate and optimize control system designs
- Plan and manage activities leading up to final demonstrations of system accuracy and performance.
Software
- Design, develop and implement control algorithms to integrate control systems into overall product architecture
- Proactively manage design configuration in accordance with Quality and Engineering policies, processes and tools.
Safety
- Compliance with all company policies and processes regarding range safety.
Cross-functional collaboration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maximize the performance of EOS RWS in multiple configurations in service, at Customer demonstrations and in contracted Verification andValidation (VandV) testing.
Reporting
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with Quality and Engineering Management Systems.
Problem Resolution
- Anticipate challenges and risk and proactively mitigate them before performance is impacted.
Troubleshoot and diagnose control system issue(s) providing timely solutions to maintain product performance.
