Job Description Summary:
The Process Engineer supports the Plant Superintendent, driving process improvements and managing new process/material introductions for MMAT. They collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical support for trials and troubleshooting, and maintain documentation. The position reports to the Plant Superintendent and is part of the Steering and Leadership Teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead process improvements to optimize cost, safety, quality, and sustainability Manage process development, raw material changes, and product transfers in coordination with cross-functional teams Support quality and compliance through RCA, audits, and process optimization Develop and implement operating procedures for new products and processes Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive project success and maintain technical expertise Independently manage projects, including small investments, with authority to make decisions and purchase within budget Travel as needed to support operations across sites; report to the Superintendent with input from the PRT Director
REQUIREMENTS BS
in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering is required An advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with of 5 years of manufacturing experience is preferred. Proven experience in batch manufacturing and a strong track record of leadership in environmental, health, and safety (EH&S), including both personal and process safety Solid background in project management, technical strategy, and cross-functional collaboration Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in complex environments Effective communicator with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive continuous improvement Skilled in developing project plans, setting realistic objectives, and delivering accurate forecasts Training or familiarity with Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Process Safety Management (PSM), and
ISO 9001
