The Process Control Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting control system issues, supporting day-to-day operations, and contributing to safe and reliable plant performance. This role will serve as a key resource in advancing control strategy execution, participating in capital projects, and championing safety and continuous improvement efforts.
TARGETED OUTCOMES
Support the site using PLC, and other lower-level controller knowledge Gain proficiency in DeltaV DCS programming Provide key support for controls migration projects
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshoot and develop solutions for daily operations and maintenance challenges Design, configure, and maintain DCS control strategies (Provox, DeltaV, or similar) to ensure safe and efficient plant operation Manage external resources to meet needs, etc. Assist in development of Provox resource succession planning Support capital projects through design assistance, reviews and installation/startup Act as a technical resource to provide solutions to operating areas and maintenance teams TEAM Reports to: Site PCS Manager Works within a team of 4-5 specialists and engineers to support maintenance and operations
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE BS
in Chemical or Electrical Engineering, or related field with relevant experience 5+ years of experience in chemical or petrochemical facility Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills using formalized tools such as RCFA, FMEA, etc. Technical knowledge and understanding of chemical processing equipment and control systems Ability to effectively lead multifunctional teams and influence others Excellent communication skills, both written and oral Strong computer capabilities, including networking
REQUIRED SKILLS
