What you will do Sr. Process Engineer Performs chemical engineering work in the analysis, planning and control of the manufacturing process for the production of pulp and paper products. Performs engineering work related to the operation of process equipment including process and machine trials, daily process troubleshooting and problem solving, improving equipment productivity and efficiency, material consumption reduction, working with chemical and equipment suppliers to implement continuous improvements and overseeing and leading manufacturing optimization projects. Job Responsibilities Assists in the planning and implementation of process trials in the major production areas including Finished Products (Paper), Pulp Mill and Power & Recovery
Leads Continuous Improvement projects designed to improve/increase productivity, process efficiency, chemical use reduction, cost reduction and new product development.
Assists with the development of process work systems including Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Operator Rounds, Flow Charting, Trouble-Cause-Correction (TCC’s), Lockout/Tagout Procedures, Training Materials, etc.
Drive best practices in safe operations and ensure the safety of all operations, maintenance and support personnel.
Proficient at extracting and analyzing data with knowledge of Plant Information System (PI), PARCView or other data historian system.
Must be a team player and function well with other process groups including Operations, Maintenance, Process Control, Project Engineering, Safety, Environmental and Finance
Ability to work with chemical and equipment suppliers to research process equipment, obtain quotes and make recommendations for purchase.
Must be a self-starter, self-directed, self-motivator and learn to effectively multi-task.
Familiarity with Continuous Improvement processes or DMAIC training would be a plus.
Provides engineering support during scheduled or annual outages.

Drive for Results What you will need Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Pulp and Paper Science
Minimum 5 years of experience required; Paper Machine experience preferred
Skilled in utilization of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), preferably JDE.
Multi-tasking skills with the ability to meet deadlines on a continuous basis.
Skilled in Microsoft Project, Excel and Word.
High speed manufacturing environment, sustained exposure to high frequency noises, multiple hours standing, walking on concrete surfaces
Personal Protective Equipment required in mill environment.
Dirt, noise, odor, & temperature extremes.
Climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding
Exposure to hazardous chemicals used in manufacturing process
Able to work a 12-hour rotating shift which includes nights, days, weekends, and holidays.
