Responsibilities:
TheEngineering Technician in Parenteral delivers solid technicalexpertise as the first line of engineering support to productionprocesses, transfer knowledge of equipment capabilities, and worksin conjunction with other engineering team members, as well asoperations and maintenance departments to ensure process equipmentreadiness and reliability. The Engineering Technician isresponsible for equipment performance by supporting engineeringinitiatives and implementing process improvement projects. Thisposition requires expertise in production processes, commissioning,qualification, and validation of assets. This position will helpensure that equipment is maintained in a qualified state, can beoperated safely, and maintenance is properly performed on thesystems.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
The Engineering Technician inParenteral has the following objectives, but not limited to: Act asthe first line of engineering support. Investigate and resolveissues with process equipment in Inspection and Robotics thatcreate production delays. Transfer knowledge of equipmentcapabilities and operational techniques to operators andmaintenance. Implement tools for operations and engineering tolearn and work more proficiently. Coordination of engineeringcontractors and vendors. Work closely with process and automationengineers to assist during qualification, engineering studies,cycle development, investigations, and process changes, providingtechnical reports, redlining drawings & specifications. Workclosely with other technicians to identify and troubleshootmechanical, electrical, automation and instrumentation issues.
Implement tools for operations and engineering to learn and workmore proficiently.
Assist maintenance in:
Troubleshootingactivities. Job plans reviews. Participating in periodic reviews ofequipment state. Identify opportunities for process improvementsusing equipment performance data and communicate to process and/orautomation engineers. Plan and execute small projects for processand automation equipment improvements. Work with the process areaowners and operations personnel in development of equipment design,procedures, engineering studies and maintenance practices that willenable the process to operate as required. Find and eliminatesafety issues with the equipment and processes. Execution ofPre-Start Up Safety (PSSR) reviews. Participate in safety reviewsand audits, as required. Perform activities in accordance with GMPsand applicable procedures. Understand the production process andcritical process parameters. Assure that operational andmaintenance procedures and practices reflect safety concerns.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED Previous experiencedirectly supporting a pharmaceutical manufacturing. Solidexperience in a GMP manufacturing environment. Solid experience ininstrumentation, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
AdditionalPreferences:
Demonstrated ability to work safely in a participativeenvironment. Knowledge of Inspection and Robotics equipment andother Parenteral manufacturing operations Strong equipment/processtroubleshooting skills. Demonstrated proficiency with MicrosoftWord and Excel; proficient at typing and writing technicaldocuments. Demonstrated ability to work independently with strongorganizational skills and attention to detail and ability to adaptto rapidly changing priorities. Demonstrated strong interpersonalskills and communications skills with a service attitude.
Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, working safelyand accountable for supporting all HSE Corporate and Site Goals.
Previous experience with highly automated equipment Knowledge ofParenteral equipment and manufacturing operations Experience withcomputerized maintenance management systems. Experience in PLCand/or HMI programming. Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk View SEprogramming experience.
