- We are looking for a
- Welding Process Engineer
- in Charlotte, NC responsible for and coordinate all related technical welding processes during initial development, through weld process set-up and execution, to final Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) of a weld that meets or exceeds engineering requirements.
- How You’ll Make an
Impact:
- + Contract review such as check of the technical and expert knowledge of the welders, the production conditions, the fulfillment of the contract terms, the compliance certificate, Quality Management system.
+ Use training and developed knowledge in determination of the condition of the welded joint, the weld seam geometry and execution, tools and semi-automated tool as well as welding procedures. + Responsibility to determine welder qualification, create welding instructions, safety instructions, welding tools, part set-up and fixturing, and weld inspection methods. + Technical welding production, check of prepared weld geometry, dimensions and cleanness, assignment of valid welding instructions, check of welding inspection for compliance (scope and validity, welding such as introduction of the welders, check of the welding consumables, check of tack welds, parameters such as preheat and processing temperature, weld sequence). + Create Welding Procedure Specification(s) (WPS) for new weld process creation and guide development with trained welding workforce. + Develop Procedure Qualification Record (PQR) using working in alignment with industry standards and customer requirements. + Defining all essential and nonessential welding parameters in WPS and PQR.

What You Bring:
- + Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field and 5 years of experience.
+ Will accept 2 years of experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree. + Full term of experience must include: welding manufacturing engineering experience in a shop environment; + Knowledge of Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), and Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) processes; + Application development of robotics, automated and semi-automated welding and fabrication processes; + WPS development and management welder PQR; + Working with multiple codes including American National Standards Institute (ANSI), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), American Petroleum Institute (API), American Welding Society (AWS), and International Organization for Standards (ISO); + Implementing and/or improving manufacturing processes, information, facilities, and production planning in a shop environment; + Knowledge of destructive and non-destructive weld evaluation methods; + Knowledge of welding metallurgy. + The position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program. + To apply, please email resumes to resumes@siemens-energy.com (siemensenergy.resumes@siemens-energy.com) referencing job code: MK/JM.Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Siemens Energy is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.
