New Permanent Role Sr Process Engineer – High TemperatureTechnology NES Fircroft is actively seeking an experienced ChemicalEngineer for a permanent role with our minerals processing clientat their facilities in Spruce Pine, North Carolina! This ProcessEngineering position will deal specifically with our client’s HighTemperature Technologies Team, bridging the gap between R D andIndustrial Processing, and will be responsible for design newinnovative processes to improve efficiency, safety, sustainability,and cost efficiency. Position Summary As a Process Engineer inour Client’s engineering organization, you will be expected toutilize your skills to analyze, optimize and deliver engineeringsolutions to the business for both capital projects and operationalimprovements. The Process Engineer will be responsible for thedevelopment and approval of process design and specifications. Theywill be able to work independently on complex problems andcollaboratively with other engineering disciplines when necessary.

Reporting to the relevant Engineering Department Manager theengineer will be responsible for the organization of their owntasks to meet project deadlines. The engineers work may have highlevels of ambiguity and determining solutions will require workingwith unknowns. The engineers target focus will be in reactionengineering and high temperature equipment with a focus on thetechnical design knowledge of these processes. ResponsibilitiesSafety – Apply process safety techniques to all engineering toensure safety in design. Maintain and promote a safe workingenvironment for all employees. Provide Safety Leadership byparticipating in engineering team meetings and actively identifyingany concerns in the field. Process Engineering & Design – Designnew, innovative processes and adapt existing ones to improveefficiency, safety, sustainability and cost efficiency. Developtechnical documentation in some cases bridging the technology gapbetween R D into industrial processing. Manage complexambiguity in design to drive solutions forward and find novelsolutions. Develop and competently assess documentation includingblock flow diagrams /P&ID, control philosophy and other processengineering documents. Project Management – Coordination betweenthe construction team and other functions; engineering,sourcing/contracting, project controls and risk managementincluding coordination of commissioning and handover activitiesinto operations. Be accountable for project risk management toensure that project risks are identified, assessed, prioritized andmitigated. Support the evaluation of technical and economicfeasibility of projects. Analytics and Continuous Improvement -Assess and provide solutions regarding both project-basedoptimization and operational optimization. Participate in projectreviews to implement lessons learned in ongoing and futurephases/projects. Assist in troubleshooting problems and engage inRoot Cause Analysis and Failure Mode Analysis techniques. About YouAble to respond to immediate problems by exercising good judgementfrom available information and established guidelines. Displayswell rounded knowledge of engineering problem solving and processimprovement. Takes accountability for own work, both successes andfailures. Communicates clearly in situations that affect their areaof responsibilities. Develops good working relationships with teammembers. Positively influences others with their enthusiasm andenergy. Qualifications A minimum requirement of a Bachelor’sdegree in science or chemical engineering, further education as PhDor masters is highly favourable. Industry experience minimum of 10years with exposure to industrial high temperature equipment and/orreaction engineering processes. Exposure in small to medium sizedproject engineering designs or improvement programs of variouscomplexity levels. Site based design/operating engineeringexperience would be favourable.
