New Permanent Role Sr Process Engineer – Leaching TechnologySpecialist NES Fircroft is actively seeking an experienced ChemicalEngineer for a permanent role with our minerals processing clientat their facilities in Spruce Pine, North Carolina! This ProcessEngineering position will deal specifically with our client’sIndustrial Leaching processes, bridging the gap between R D andIndustrial Processing, and will be responsible for design newinnovative processes to improve efficiency, safety, sustainability,and cost efficiency.  All interested candidates are encouraged tosend their resumes directly to gabriel.fox@nesfircroft.com alongwith their availability.  Position Summary As a Process Engineerin our client’s engineering organization, you will be expected toutilize your skills to analyze, optimize and deliver engineeringsolutions to the business for both capital projects and operationalimprovements. The Process Engineer will be responsible for thedevelopment and approval of process design and specifications. Theywill be able to work independently on complex problems andcollaboratively with other engineering disciplines when necessary.

Reporting to the relevant Engineering Department Manager theengineer will be responsible for the organization of their owntasks to meet project deadlines. The engineers work may have highlevels of ambiguity and determining solutions will require workingwith unknowns. The engineers target focus will be in leachingtechnology and application with a focus on the technical knowledgeof these processes. Responsibilities  Safety – Apply processsafety techniques to all engineering to ensure safety in design.

Maintain and promote a safe working environment for all employees.ÂProvide Safety Leadership by participating in engineering teammeetings and actively identifying any concerns in the field. ÂProcess Engineering & Design – Design new, innovative processes andadapt existing ones to improve efficiency, safety, sustainabilityand cost efficiency. Develop technical documentation in some casesbridging the technology gap between R D into industrialprocessing. Manage complex ambiguity in design to drive solutionsforward and find novel solutions. Develop and competently assessdocumentation including block flow diagrams /P&ID, controlphilosophy and other process engineering documents.   ProjectManagement – Coordination between the construction team and otherfunctions; engineering, sourcing/contracting, project controls andrisk management including coordination of commissioning andhandover activities into operations. Be accountable for projectrisk management to ensure that project risks are identified,assessed, prioritized and mitigated. Support the evaluation oftechnical and economic feasibility of projects.  Analytics andContinuous Improvement – Assess and provide solutions regardingboth project-based optimization and operational optimization.

Participate in project reviews to implement lessons learned inongoing and future phases/projects. Assist in troubleshootingproblems and engage in Root Cause Analysis and Failure ModeAnalysis techniques. About You Able to respond to immediateproblems by exercising good judgement from available informationand established guidelines. Displays well rounded knowledge ofengineering problem solving and process improvement. Takesaccountability for own work, both successes and failures.

Communicates clearly in situations that affect their area ofresponsibilities. Develops good working relationships with teammembers. Positively influences others with their enthusiasm andenergy. Comfortable in making decisions and taking actions, evenwith incomplete information. Handles risk and uncertaintycomfortably. Qualifications  A minimum requirement of a Bachelor’sdegree in science or chemical engineering, further education as PhDor masters is highly favourable. Industry experience minimum of 10years with exposure to industrial leaching processes.  Exposurein small to medium sized project engineering designs or improvementprograms of various complexity levels.  Site baseddesign/operating engineering experience would be favourable.
