Position Summary:

Engineers at the Kimberly Clark, Beech Island facility provide leadership and execution in solving daily safety, productivity, cost and quality issues to meet business objectives. In addition, engineers establish continuous improvement plans to address chronic longer-term issues and advance the capability of the assets. Engineers work cross functionally with the Staff Research & Engineering teams to develop and implement new products or assets. The incumbent reports to an Engineering Team leader and receives direction in the form of general project objectives. It starts with YOU. In this role, you will: Lead single or multiple product or process improvement projects with a financial scope of up to $1 million from conception through commercialization. Provide functional leadership and creativity in the initiation of design, development, and optimization of manufacturing equipment and processes to meet unit objectives. Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner. Develop equipment and processes that meet safety codes, policies and guidelines. Provide for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance, and other personnel. Identify complex technical issues and provide necessary solutions to determine root cause. To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Paper Science from an accredited college or university. Up to 3 years of experience in plant or staff engineering assignments. A demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team while providing task- oriented direction to others in order to complete projects within required timeframes. Experience using manufacturing analysis tools, such as: statistical process control, design of experiments, process capability studies, Six Sigma and lean manufacturing. Along with base pay, this position offers eligibility for a target bonus and a comprehensive benefits suite, including our 401(k) and Profit-Sharing plan. The anticipated base pay range for this role is provided above for a fully qualified hire. Actual pay will depend on several factors, such as location, role, skills, performance, and experience.
