Sr. Engineer – Power Plant Chemistry* Position Available In Berkeley, South Carolina

Sr. Engineer•Power Plant Chemistry• Santee Cooper United States, South Carolina, Moncks Corner Jun 16, 2025 Position Description Provides engineering support to generating stations with an emphasis on chemical processes.
Serves as the subject matter expert and is responsible for fleetwide SCR catalyst management, cycle chemistry, asbestos and radiation safety programs.
Plans and executes SCR catalyst actions and boiler chemical cleaning projects.
Establishes guidelines and procedures for controlling cycle chemistry, monitors daily chemistry reports and supports station laboratory personnel with troubleshooting.

Essential Job Tasks:

Verifies accuracy of condensate, feedwater, boiler water, steam, circulating water and make-up water analyses.
Administers round robin program for Rainey, Winyah, and Cross laboratories to ensure accuracy of boiler chemistry procedures.
Monitors condition of cycle chemistry and recommends action to restore recommended limits.
Updates Boiler Chemistry Guidelines and Procedures Manual as necessary.
Monitor and verify online data acquistion software is accurate (ETA PRO).
Responsible for assisting generating stations with boiler chemical cleaning projects.
Review tube assessment reports and monitor tube deposit weights for each unit. Position Requirements This position may be eligible for hybrid (remote and in person arrangement). •Will consider Sr. Engineer, Engineer III or Engineer II Sr. Engineer Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an

EAC/ABET

accredited college/university + 8 years experience.
Advanced degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering is preferred.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required.

Compensation Information:

$102,560•$128,200 (min.•mid.) Engineer III Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an

EAC/ABET

accredited college/university + 5 years experience.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
EIT/FE certification is required.

Compensation Information:

$91,990•$114,990 (min.•mid.) Engineer II Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an

EAC/ABET

accredited college/university + 2 years experience.
Fundamentals of Engineering registration preferred.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must possess supervisory and administrative skills with proficient oral and written communication skills.

Compensation Information:

$82,520•$103,140 (min.•mid.)
