Process Engineer – Greenville 3.3 3.3 out of 5 stars 315 Echelon Road, Greenville, SC 29605 We are currently hiring for an experienced Process Engineer in our Greenville, South Carolina, facility who will monitor manufacturing processes driving needed improvements in product quality, safety and efficiency who will also lead scale ups along with projects to enable the manufacture of new products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Employee must pass a fitness for duty test, drug screen and submit to a TB test on a post offer employment physical. Monitors process performance throughout production. Troubleshoots problems associated with manufacturing processes. Drives process improvements with regard to safety, quality and efficiency. Writes, edits, and controls the batch making instructions for all products. Lead waste minimization initiatives. Lead new product scale ups. Lead process improvement projects working with Maintenance and/or outside contractors. Testing and monitoring equipment. Analyzing process workflows. Ensuring that the performance and quality of products conform to established standards, specifications and company guidelines. Back up for Site’s Operational Manager. Follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Polymer chemistry. Reactors and unit operations associated with batch manufacturing process. Ability to interact well with Operators, Mechanics, Management & outside Customers. Ability to lead and take ownership of processes. Detail oriented, organized and meets deadlines. Ingenuity for using the broad concepts of chemical engineering and applying them to address specific production problems. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Desire to grow into a Site leadership role. Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) systems. Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, required. 5 – 10 years of polymer manufacturing experience. Prefer experience working with Process Safety Management (PSM) 1910 Standard. Prefer experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC). Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while using a computer and phone. Ability to work in an uncontrolled environmental setting where temperatures can be extremely cold, hot or humid depending on the outside temperature. The job is in a plant setting where there can be unexpected, sudden loud noises, beeping back alarm, flashing lights and sudden movements. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times by lifting, pulling or pushing and reaching above the shoulders. Must be able to climb stairs to mezzanines that can be more than 12 feet from the ground Must be able to pass a respirator certification and wear and wear respiratory protective equipment. Work Schedule Monday – Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Must be able to work additional hours as business needs dictate. Work environment is on site. Remote work not offered for this position. Pay Range Pay range is $1,923.08 to $2,596.15 per week, based on experience and education level. To qualify for the highest level of the pay range the candidate will require significant, verifiable experience along with the necessary degree.
