As a part of the High Purity Quartz Operations, the Sr. Process Control Engineer role will empower you to analyse and develop statistical process control solutions for numerous chemical processes (leaching and high- temperature reactors) at our plants where we produce Hight Purity Quartz to ensure the consistent quality of our product while maximizing volume. He or she will work closely with both the Manager of Technical Operations as well as the plant managers. Moreover, he or she will work closely with their counterpart., to build the foundation and procedures for optimizing and controlling our processes.
Your Impact in This Role
As a Sr. Process Control Engineer, Advanced Processing, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Build the foundation for SPC implementation for various processes, e.g., develop procedures and methods to analyse data, evaluate process capabilities, and identify opportunities to optimize process parameters to create more consistency.
Leverage Statistical Process Control to prevent non-conformances and reduce product variation through standard measurement plans, implementation of advanced gaging and sampling methodology.
Evaluate the effectiveness of set SPC limits and boundaries and CpK control limits and suggest improvements.
Support Operations in reviewing and adjusting calibrations of processes to meet new limits and boundaries.
Support Operations in improving process efficiency.
Together with our Continuous Improvement team, support root cause analysis on any internal or external non-conformances. This may include 5 Why, PFMEA, or other similar methodologies.
Work with Plant Managers to implement effective corrective actions addressing process deviations.
Troubleshoot and provide analytical support to Continuous Improvement Specialists data to inform improvement decisions.
Effectively visualize and communicate findings related to SPC and assist other teams with effective visualization of SPC related ideas or improvements.
What You Bring to the Table
BS/ MS degree in Chemical/ Metallurgical Engineering, with a strong background in Statistics and improvement.
10+ years of experience with process development, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), & FMEA fundamentals.
Experience in process automation.
Experience in Data Visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
Fluency in the local language and written and spoken English.
