JOB SUMMARY:
Coordinates prototype production and testing; manages injection machine parameter specifications; conducts tool trials & improvement activities; responsible for completing projects in accordance with customer specifications and within schedule and budget limitations; coordinating activities of contractors and vendors; may have direct or indirect reporting over CNC operators and programmers. Reports to the Production Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Oversee production trials for development of new products or processes and generate reports from trials to product engineering and quality department teams. Set-up and create machine parameter files necessary for the development of new products, tool trials and regular production. Responsible for DNC network of injection machine parameters (product files). Reviews and evaluates new product design specifications and test requirements, ensuring technical accuracy and cost efficiency. Continuously searches for new materials, processes and procedures to enhance and improve the product line. Recommends cutting tools and vendors to help reduce cost and improve tool ordering/availability for CNC department. Assists the manufacturing department in the development of processes and tooling necessary to produce the product efficiently. Develop and maintain database for the purpose of tracking mold maintenance, repair, receiving/inspection, cleaning schedule, and basic manufacturer information. Assist in establishing a tool inspection/control system for flatness, venting, & shut-off verification. Tracks AWM department KPI measurements for reporting and program analysis functions.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Participates in product reviews and process reviews to prevent or resolve product or production difficulties. Supports QA and TQC with corrective actions and meeting product specifications as needed. Supports manufacturing during start-up of new product lines; assists in the development of operations standards. Interfaces with product engineers, designers and programmers to understand and meet the product design requirements. Performs other duties when required or requested. Supports other North America locations as required. Responsible for the education of setup techs and supervisors to ensure adequate understanding of injection molding processing best practices
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree in engineering or related field required. Sound knowledge of engineering theory and design criteria. Must be familiar with a variety of manufacturing processes, material selection, cutting tool selection and product testing. Good mechanical, analytical and technical skills. Proficient computer skills; working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Project, Access Demonstrated writing and communication skills required. Good administrative and interpersonal skills, ability to work within a team, ability to handle multiple tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS
Work may involve standing, bending, lifting and cutting for extended periods of time. Ability to lift 40 pounds overhead.

$65,000.00 – $68,000.00 per year
