Job Description

Do not use for Tech positions. Only use for E/S positions (exempt). Position Profile Expect to perform a key role on infrastructure design projects, with emphasis upon providing roadway and site-civil planning and engineering services to Hanson clients. Position requires the ability to work on a variety of projects, take direction from multiple supervisors, and coordinate with other staff. It is important that this position support the project teams from initial planning through design to construction. This position may be an entry-level position geared for professional learning, growth, and increased responsibility. The successful candidate will perform a key role on infrastructure design, planning, and PD&E projects, with an emphasis upon providing roadway and site-civil planning and engineering services to Hanson clients. A Day in Life of a Civil Designer at Hanson As a civil designer you would be an integral part in our collaborative project-team culture. Here’s a snapshot of what you would do in this role: Perform engineering calculations. Utilize computer software for analysis and design. Work efficiently with other team members for project completion. Obtain permitting. Collect existing physical data, and provide planning, design, and construction-related services. Assist in project activities such as site investigations and field reconnaissance. Process permit applications, computer modeling, and utility locations. Construction document preparation, construction contractor pricing and procurement assistance. Preparation of report findings and project close-out documentation assistance. Collaborate with senior technical staff. Other duties as assigned. What We’re Looking For We feel the following qualifications would set you up for success in this role:

Technical Skills:

CAD experience and/or willingness to learn MicroStation and AutoCAD Related site civil, transportation, stormwater, and water/sewer systems design software Working knowledge of

Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and Power Point Soft Skills:

Must be able to work independently and as a team member to problem solve and learn new technical skills Strong oral communication and technical writing skills. Must be able to build effective relationships with internal and external client bases. Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines. Interest in experiencing a variety of assignments is important. Must be able to collaborate remotely with colleagues in other offices. Willing to accept out-of-town travel assignments and to work overtime to meet project demands. Possess a valid driver’s license.

Education/Experience:

A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or related field, is required. FE/Engineer in Training certification desirable or scheduled to take before graduation. 0 to 3 years of site civil, transportation and/or other similar project experience Previous Internship related work experience is a plus. Site civil design experience is a plus. AutoCAD project experience is a plus.

Salary Range:
