Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and meticulous Junior Engineer to join our dynamic team. This hybrid position will focus on supporting the planning and design of state and municipal civil projects, particularly in water/sewer pipeline design and site/grading design. The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning all aspects of engineering, especially the use if Computer Aided software, and will excel in time management, adaptability, and meticulous communication.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop detailed designs for civil engineering projects with an emphasis on water/sewer pipeline design and grading. Conduct feasibility assessments and site inspections to ensure project viability. Prepare, implement, and monitor project plans in collaboration with the team and clients. Learn and adapt quickly to AutoCAD/Civil 3D, especially pipe networks and grading within the software. Participate in cross-functional team meetings and assist in project coordination as needed.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited college or university is required. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related engineering or design role. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software, including pipe networks and grading, is preferred.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; capable of managing multiple tasks with deadlines. Ability to work independently and take initiative, as well as work collaboratively in a team environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with an ability to present complex information clearly and effectively. Self-motivated, forward-thinking, and proactive in professional development, especially with CAD software. Ability to learn new software and engineering concepts quickly, adapting to new technologies as they emerge. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint for documentation and team collaboration.
Physical Demands:
Travel to project sites using a personal vehicle as required. Attend meetings or submit project documentation to cities and counties. Ability to sit at a desk using a computer for extended periods to prepare designs and reports. Why Join Us?
