Truss Designer Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilledand experienced Truss Designer to join our team. The idealcandidate will be responsible for designing and creating structuraltruss systems used in residential and commercial construction. Thisrole requires a strong understanding of structural engineeringprinciples, design software, and industry standards, as well as theability to work collaboratively with engineers, architects, andconstruction teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Truss Design:
Developdetailed designs for alpine trusses, ensuring that they meetsafety, durability, and performance standards specific tomountainous environments.
CAD and Software Use:
Utilize Mitekdesign software.
Structural Analysis:
Perform structuralcalculations and assessments to ensure that trusses will withstandthe environmental stresses found in alpine environments, such assnow load, wind resistance, and seismic factors.
Collaboration:
Work closely with architects, engineers, and construction teams toensure designs align with overall project goals and are feasible toimplement.
Code Compliance:
Ensure designs comply with localbuilding codes, industry standards, and regulations for alpine andmountain-based structures.
Project Management Support:
Assist withthe preparation of project timelines, cost estimates, and materialspecifications, and monitor progress to ensure timely delivery oftruss systems.
Site Visits:
Conduct site assessments as needed toverify the feasibility of truss designs and to ensure the correctinstallation of trusses in challenging terrain.
Innovation:
Stayup-to-date with emerging design trends, new materials, andinnovative construction techniques that can improve the performanceand aesthetic of alpine trusses.
Qualifications:
Proficiency inMitek design software. Strong understanding of structural analysis,material properties, and load calculations. Familiarity with thespecific building codes and regulations governing alpine ormountain construction. Excellent problem-solving skills andattention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of acollaborative team. Strong communication skills to effectivelyliaise with project stakeholders, including engineers, architects,and construction teams.
