RaceTrac Company Overview Job Description:
The Civil Designer is responsible for drafting, editing and preparing various documents and design solutions to support the Engineering, Real Estate, Legal and Construction departments that drive RaceTrac’s C-store development. This individual provides support for in-house staff and outside consultants that prepare or manage the detailed engineering and legal processes associated with acquisition, disposition and/or development of commercial real estate.
Responsibilities:
Provides timely and accurate design solutions based on objective criteria provided by RaceTrac and RaceTrac’s consultants. Interprets design documents such as
ALTA/ACSM
Boundary Surveys, Topographical Surveys, Legal Descriptions, Property Exhibits, Civil Plans, and Reports provided by others. Interacts with multiple internal and external business partners to produce Preliminary Site Plans, Contract Exhibits, Civil Site Plans, Grading Plans, Boundary & Easement Exhibits, etc. using AutoCAD and/or other Civil Design Software to create quality digital documents. Standardizes the design document preparation and distribution processes to increase efficiency and accuracy. Prioritizes individual tasks/assignments from multiple internal clients based on critical dates and task complexity. Effectively communicates and disseminates information to internal and external clients. Facilitates one-on-one meetings to communicate ideas effectively to internal clients. Occasionally acts as Design Standards Administrator, including but not limited to tasks such as updating and/or creating RaceTrac & RaceWay standard details, AnyTown Plans, Order Form Templates, etc. as well as communicating and disseminating the information to internal clients. Occasionally acts as AutoCAD Support Administrator, including but not limited to tasks such as creating and/or updating Custom Blocks, Lisp Routines, Commands, Design Templates, Layer Standards, Plot Styles, etc. and distributes information and support files to other Civil Designers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in surveying, Civil or Environmental engineering required 2+ years’ experience using Autodesk Civil3d 2020 or more recent, used in conjunction with civil engineering or surveying projects, required Field experience on construction sites or pre-construction processes preferred Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required Experience using Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, required Experience using document management software preferred All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment with RaceTrac without regard to their race, national origin, religion, age, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by local, state, or federal laws, rules, or regulations.
