Technical Drafter (Cabinetry and Furniture) Position Available In Suffolk, Massachusetts

Technical Drafter (Cabinetry and Furniture) Erik Rueda Design Lab Chelsea, MA 02150 We are looking for a millwork drafter capable of producing clear, well-crafted and detailed shop drawings for cabinetry, millwork and furniture. The ideal candidate will be able to provide elegant and buildable solutions for a wide variety of construction approaches. The position requires an aptitude for real-world design solutions to engineering problems that can be implemented easily and efficiently by our fabricators. Drafters should be capable of communicating designs both on paper and verbally with clients during meetings. Drawings should also be presentable and easily comprehended by clients. Candidates should have prior knowledge of furniture and millwork construction, and ideally have first-hand experience in building furniture and millwork. Our lead drafter will be responsible in coordinating coherent designs across our drafting team.

QUALIFICATION + SKILLS

Minimum 5 years’ experience professionally drafting. Strong understanding of cabinetry and furniture construction Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field preferred. Proficiency in Auto-Cad, Illustrator, Fusion 360, Sketch-up (knowledge of other software a plus). Reliable, detail-oriented and highly motivated. Strong organizational skills. Site survey experience.
