Clerical Office Job Summary:
The Building Elements Designer II is responsible for the technical design and production of complex, site-specific permit and production drawings, ensuring the highest level of accuracy and efficiency. Responsible for creating, modifying and maintaining master drawings for their primary assigned account including coordinating with production, sales staff and account managers in order to maintain an up-to-date set of master drawings. The BE Designer II is expected to take a proactive role in working with cross functional teams, participating in client interactions, and developing innovative design solutions.
Essential Functions:
Communicate/Customer Interface:
Communicate with sales staff, account managers, customer service representatives, estimators, and production staff to produce drawings for client approval and permit acquisition. Works with account representative and sales team to determine customer needs and expectations Returns emails and phone calls from internal and external customers the same day
Technical Management:
Translate complex project requirements into detailed drawings for review, approval, permit acquisition, and manufacturing. Utilizes advanced computer-aided design (CAD) software and 3D modeling tools to produce accurate and visually compelling representations of the final product. Create, modify and maintain master drawings for their primary assigned account and coordinate with production, sales staff and account managers to maintain an up-to-date set of master drawings. Conducts design reviews with project teams and clients, recommending value engineering options and ensuring that designs meet all necessary specifications. Provide technical support to the project management team, estimating, fabrication, sales, and installation.
Process Improvement and Innovation :
Continuously evaluate and suggest improvements to design processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and creativity. Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and new technologies related to building elements and architectural design, integrating these into the design workflow as appropriate.
Professional Development :
Actively pursue professional development opportunities, including industry-related certifications and training programs, to maintain and enhance design skills and knowledge.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure all design work complies with relevant safety standards and regulations. Promote a culture of safety within the team, adhering to all mandated safety procedures and guidelines. Adherence to all mandated safety procedures including driving policy, production area safety requirements, and fire safety Safety requires all employees to review materials provided by the Company related to any updates on safety procedures Informs management of any safety-related issues

Work Environment:

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time, 40 hour a week position with overtime as required.
Travel:
This position requires up to 10% travel, including domestic and international travel.
Educational Requirements:
Highschool diploma or GED. Associates degree from an accredited university or college or related experience. Construction or Mechanical emphasis preferred.
Preferred Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
Knowledge Requirements:
In-depth knowledge of drafting, design, and 3D modeling principles. Proficiency in CAD, SketchUp, CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator, and other relevant design programs. Strong understanding of business processes and construction methodologies. Experience with Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint. Experience with Jobscope or similar software is preferred but not required.
