Clark Nexsen is seeking a creative, ambitious Architect I whoshares our commitment to design excellence, sustainability, andinnovation. You will join a team of architects and designers,working in a multi-discipline, collaborative, and engagingteam-based environment that draws on multiple perspectives in thepursuit of innovative solutions. As part of this team, you willhave the opportunity to shape architectural projects in a varietyof typologies and scales for clients that include educational andcultural institutions, commercial developers, government entities,and local communities. The ideal candidate for this position willbe energetic and passionate about design, committed to quality,engaged in team, office, and firm-wide initiatives, able to workindependently and in a team environment, an enthusiastic mentor forother design staff, and able to prioritize work. General responsibilities include but are not limited to thefollowing: Fully competent architect in all conventional aspects ofarchitecture and independently performs a variety of assignmentsfor projects of moderate size and complexity under the supervisionof the Senior Architect Performs analyses of design, planning and occupancy studies andlimited design layouts Prepares project specifications, compiling and analyzingrelevant data. Writes reports and specifications Reviews completed reports, plans, estimates andcalculations. Collaborate with project teams during project design phasesincluding programming, concept development, schematic design,design development, and construction documentation Develop design sketches, renderings, models, graphics,presentation materials, analysis, and construction drawings andschedules Participate in the bidding and construction administration ofprojects including jobsite visits, review of submittals, andresponding to contractor questions Communicate and engage with a wide variety of stakeholdersincluding clients, owners, users, team members, consultants,contractors, and regulatory agencies to achieve overall projectobjectives Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and participationin continuouslearning Mentor junior design staff in their professionaldevelopment Help deliver great projects with a sense of energy, passion andpersonal responsibility! Education, Technology, and Experience Professional degree from an NAAB accredited Architectureprogram 3-5 years of professional experience Must be a fully licensed Architect in at least one USstate Additional accreditations supporting the firm’s commitment todesign and continued personal growth (LEED AP, WELL, etc.) will begiven special consideration Physical model building, experience in a model building shop isstrongly preferred Excellent graphic, drawing, and presentationcapabilities Exposure to environmental analysis applications such as ClimateStudio, Sefaira, Insight360, and Lady Bug/Honeybee is aplus Commitment to sustainable design principles and interest inachieving accreditation in

AP, and/or GreenGlobes Additional Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Proficient in design, modeling and graphic software (Revit,Rhino, Enscape, Adobe Creative Cloud, and/or similar applications).Additional exposure to 3D modeling, visualization, and graphicssoftware; Rhino, Grasshopper, Lumion, Enscape, Twinmotion, andAdobe Suite are strongly preferred. Proficient understanding of appropriateness of buildinginformation modeling for various project types Proficient understanding of architectural drafting, detail anddocumentation standards Moderate level understanding of architectural specificationsand their relationship to construction documents Moderate level understanding of basic codes, sustainabilityrequirements and their implementation Moderate level understanding of building programming Dedicated to developing his/her professional and leadershipskills within the firm Intermediate level understanding of client presentationdevelopment, public speaking and meeting documentation Workplace Flexibility We have selected two as common days in the office to nurturecollaboration and innovation and to support learning and growththrough engagement with colleagues. We are asking everyone to bepresent on Mondays and Thursdays, with a required third day thatwill provide additional flexibility and be set established betweenyou and your supervisor (with consideration given to your projectteam members and clients).
