TITLE:
Head of Design
USA DUTIES
Leading the day-to-day operations of the U.S. design team, working with Creative and Design Directors with regular reports on workflow and performance; Scheduling and delegating workload, ensuring all deadlines are met, managing team’s creative direction with regular steering and shadowing; Forward planning for freelance bookings to pre-empt work overflow and specific design resource to ensure timely project delivery; Leading the internal design team recruitment process for the U.S. region; Proactively leading communication amongst internal interdisciplinary teams on projects: project management, production and installation teams where necessary; Concept design, time management, technical design and production, and conducting regular client facing design pitches using 3D software; Building company culture and interdisciplinary team connections and partnerships; Mentoring the design team overseeing technical drawings, working closely with production factories to ensure quality of product. Occasional domestic U.S. travel (3% of time).
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Event and Exhibition Design, or Spatial and Communication Design, or related field; two (2) years of experience as a Senior Designer. Experience must include two (2) years of experience in the following: Conducting 360 comprehensive design services within the retail display design industry, leading the conceptualization and development of unique and innovative design concepts; Design project management for clients in retail pop up and window display industry in the luxury market; Frequent launches of design projects informed by design trends and luxury brand identities spanning globally; Collaborating with internal global and regional interdisciplinary teams to define design and production strategies to ensure a seamless project process and final output; Creating concept 3D renderings and technical specification packs to communicate design intent to internal teams and clients; Utilizing Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, SketchUp, VRay and Office suite.
