Designer Position Available In Somerset, Pennsylvania

Plan and design cultural and natural resource interpretation items, including interpretive plans, design guidelines, interpretive markers, signs, museum and nature center exhibits, touchscreen interactives, maps, and 3D scale maps

• Develop graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and Web sites. Become proficient with Adobe Illustrator
• Prepare illustrations or rough sketches of material, discussing them with clients or supervisors and making necessary changes
• Understand operational instruction of all equipment and basic safety knowledge
• Prepare digital files for printing
• Create designs, concepts, and sample layouts, based on knowledge of layout principles and esthetic design concepts
• Use computer software (Adobe Photoshop) to generate new images
• Use computer software (Adobe InDesign) to generate new images and layouts
• Become familiar with Google Workspace
• Maintain archive of images, photos, or previous work products. Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of both digital and print files for consistency in brand collateral across a wide variety of media Thorough knowledge of and experience with Adobe CC applications (Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop primarily) Knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.

) Bachelor’s degree in digital design, graphic design, graphic communications or related field preferred. 0-3 years of professional experience (including internships and freelance work)
