job summary: We are seeking a Structural Design Engineer with their P.E. license with a specialization in steel structures. This is a direct hire role located in Memphis TN. The Structural Design Engineer is responsible for providing safe, efficient, and code-compliant structural designs for pre-engineered steel building systems. This role supports both internal teams and external clients by delivering high-quality engineering solutions that align with project goals, manufacturing capabilities, and industry standards. This engineer will lead and support the design process, review the work of junior engineers, and serve as a technical expert throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will be licensed, experienced in steel building systems, and comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This position offers

  • 110,000 per year work hours: 9am to 5pm education: Bachelors responsibilities:
  • Establish and adhere to project scopes and budgets.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations and objectives with both internal staff and clients, utilizing both written and verbal channels.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and prepare comprehensive structure condition reports.
  • Interpret specifications and drawings, propose and document design modifications, and coordinate seamlessly with the design team.
  • Conduct Quality Assurance/Quality Checks on all projects to uphold Chastain’s commitment to delivering superior service to our clients.
  • Provide oversight and mentorship to staff while also offering project support to other departments within Chastain.
  • Manage client relationships and actively cultivate new business connections.
  • Capability to engage in design work related to non-bridge projects is advantageous but not mandat qualifications: Experience level: ExperiencedMinimum 4 years of experience
