Responsibilities:

Commit to being fully onsite for the duration of the 12-monthtraining program to fully shadow, learn, and gain hands-onexperience with the day-to-day operations of your assignedproject(s) Demonstrate understanding of training topics throughouteach phase of the first year, participating fully in performancereviews to ensure knowledge retention and development goals on a4-month cadence Follow all directions, task assignments andcoaching offered by your dedicated Futures Program Sponsor (atenured and experienced superintendent or above) Showcase requiredprofessional skills throughout the PE experience, such as theability to: Communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally,with a strong focus on professional, audience-appropriate writingand verbal skills Organize and manage multiple tasks and prioritiesat the same time Demonstrate integrity consistently with The HITTWay and our core values Seek continuous improvement of knowledgeand abilities, internally focusing on self-improvement and takinginitiative Adapt and exercise flexibility within the ever-changingworld of construction technology, design, means, and methodsCollaborate with people of various backgrounds while maintainingrelationships with colleagues, clients, subcontractors, and vendorsExhibit conscientiousness by being punctual, engaged, andrespectful of others Master required job-specific and technicalskills in order to promote to an assistant superintendent orassistant project manager following the 12-month training programincluding, but not limited to, the ability to: Set up and maintainjobsite office and all jobsite records, including projectdirectory, construction documents, subcontractor directory, dailyreports, submittal logs, RFI logs, subcontractor correspondence,etc. Make updates to as-built drawings as directed and interpretbasic coordination drawings Direct installation of building andsite protection, including signage and postings, and identify itemsrequired to “make safe” prior to demolition Assist in specificconstruction tasks as directed Participate in site inspections toensure HITT’s expectations for quality and workmanship are met Makeperiodic updates to the project schedule as directed Complete basicmaterial take-offs, place supplier orders, and receive delivery ofmaterials Assist the superintendent in the use of survey and layoutinstruments Be able to interpret basic tests and reports (airbalance, soils report, concrete test) Set up and run asubcontractor foremen’s meeting when directed by the SuperintendentUnderstand cost implications and consequences associated withspecific construction tasks at various stages of a project AssistProject Managers with logistical tasks, including budgeting andclient management, as needed Assist in the implementation of HITT’sCorporate Safety Program by conducting weekly safety meetings,toolbox talks, and completing all required safety reports whendirected

Qualifications :

High school diploma required Militaryexperience or four-year degree from an accredited university withinthe Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or Businessconcentrations strongly preferred Previous experience on commercialjob sites strongly preferred Passion for construction industry andon-site work Ability to learn sector- and project-specific softwaresystems, including but not limited to: Microsoft Office 365(Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.), ProCore, AdobeSuite, BlueBeam, and JD Edwards software suite Ability to walkand/or stand for long periods of time Ability to lift up to 50lbsHITT Contracting, Inc. is committed to creating a diverse andinclusive environment.
