Actalent is Hiring a Geotechnical Engineer PE Job Description The Geotechnical Engineer PE is responsible for planning, directing, managing, and organizing field explorations, geotechnical analysis, laboratory testing, and environmental conditions. The role involves generating reports for assigned projects and ensuring the stability and safety of structures and landscapes. Responsibilities Manage geotechnical and geological analysis, including staff, budgets, and supporting sub-consultants. Conduct research, perform preliminary geological reconnaissance, and review testing results. Develop design recommendations and direct geotechnical field observation and testing programs. Interface with clients, design teams, and the public. Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures and function as a technical specialist. Coordinate with team members including drillers, CAD technicians, laboratory managers/technicians, and document production staff. Develop and manage fieldwork for geotechnical and geological studies in accordance with various public agencies and industry standards. Prepare documents detailing analysis and recommendations. Critically review testing results, design recommendations, and documents detailing the studies/projects conducted. Prepare proposals with scope, fee, and schedule. Essential Skills Geotechnical engineering Geotechnical analysis Civil engineering Material testing Project management Professional Engineer (PE) license Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in geotechnical engineering or a related field. Proficiency in geotechnical engineering software. Excellent physical stamina and a valid driver’s license. Great interpersonal skills and exceptional oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Work Environment The role may require fieldwork and site visits, which can involve exposure to various weather conditions and terrains. Office work includes preparing reports, analyzing data, and collaborating with other team members.
