DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Nationally recognized environmental remediation contractor (#4 in ENR in 2023) looking for a Project Engineer with over three years of experience preferred to support a large and complex environmental remediation project in Jacksonville, Florida. This project will be a long-term project estimated at a duration of 1-2 years. Some of our clients include the US Army Corps of Engineers and US EPA.The scope for this project includes mobilization and set up of support infrastructure including installation of an environmental Open Cell Sheet Pile (OCSP) bulkhead, in-situ soil stabilization (ISS), dredging, dewatering, and placement of sediment within placement cells; backfill within the waterway; installation of a low permeability geosynthetic cap and associated drainage features, installation of a permanent groundwater pump and treatment system.

This is not a contract position. We hire our employees with the intent for them to retire at Sevenson.

The daily work will include:

Report daily construction activitiesDevelopment of daily excavation drawings via AutoCADMaintain daily material delivery tracking and various construction production logsPreparation of written work plansQuality control of ongoing construction work in accordance with the project construction drawings and specificationsCoordination of site deliveries with field personnelAs the individual progresses in this position, responsibilities may also include procurement of materials, equipment rentals and professional services, project scheduling, and project accounting and cost tracking.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE NEEDED

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental Engineering or applicable science degree from an accredited college/university. This position requires a well-organized individual with good communication skills as the selected individual will interact regularly with internal project management staff, field supervision, professional services, construction subcontractors, and the client’s representatives.
