U.S. South Engineering is searching for a skilled and experienced bilingual Civil Engineering Assistant with experience in AutoCAD Civil Work, and excellent organizational and communication skills .
- Experience in AutoCAD in Civil Work (Water, Sewer, Paving, Drainage) Required
- Complete written & verbal fluency in both Spanish and English Required
- Responsibilities & Duties The candidate should be a person who is both a capable CAD technician, and responsible permit coordinator/assistant willing to flex between design work and project/permit coordination duties.
This role requires someone who is responsible, firm, and is able to stay organized and follow up with permit processes for various projects. The full-time Civil Engineering Assistant will work closely with Civil Engineer and staff to perform high-quality project design work in AutoCAD on Civil Engineering plans. Applicant must have a minimum of 2 years professional experience working in AutoCAD Civil Work projects (Water, Sewer, Paving, Drainage). Further important responsibilities include permit coordination and email/verbal communication (such scheduling surveyors, subcontractors, and inspections); record-keeping for projects; project specific, technical duties including technical document preparation; providing project/permit updates and follow ups with municipal organizations and clients; and/or other supporting documentation in support of permit activities. This role is fast-paced, and the ideal candidate should be one who can keep organized and work swiftly while keeping track of various projects simultaneously. The candidate will need to do a live, in person CAD exercise with the manager as part of the interview. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years experience in AutoCAD in civil work (Water, Sewer, Paving, Drainage) Fully bilingual (Spanish and English) with both WRITTEN and VERBAL fluency Extremely organized and detail-oriented Excellent verbal and written bilingual communication skills Must be able to work in fast-paced environment while maintaining organization Bachelor’s Degree – Not required, but a plus Construction Permitting experience – Not required, but a plus This job requires working within an office environment in a sedentary position most of the day
