A leading engineering firm is seeking a technicallydiversified Senior Engineering Manager to lead and expand itsTransportation and Structural Practice in Florida. The idealcandidate will have over 15 years of experience in structuraldesign projects for FDOT and other local agencies across Florida.
This role involves project planning, engineering design, projectmanagement, business development, team leadership, budgetmanagement, quality assurance, and staff recruitment. Thesuccessful candidate will have the opportunity to work onstimulating projects alongside experienced teammates and contributesignificantly to the firm’s growth.
Essential Duties andResponsibilities:
Provide guidance and mentorship to entry-leveland senior-level engineers, EITs, and CAD staff. Lead the designand technical direction of bridge transportation projects.
Coordinate with interfacing disciplines to ensure projectalignment. Stay proficient in relevant engineering software. Managebudgets, schedules, and project quality while keeping current withregulatory changes and agency protocols. Develop proposals, scopesof work, staff-hour estimates, and work plans for engineeringprojects. Travel domestically (up to 25%) for project site visitsand client meetings.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in CivilEngineering from an accredited institution (Master’s degreepreferred). Professional Engineering (PE) license in Florida.
Extensive knowledge and experience with FDOT Districts, Florida’sTurnpike, and CFX; Design-Build expertise is a plus. Strongunderstanding of applicable regulations. Excellent verbal andwritten communication skills. Ability to work both independentlyand collaboratively within project teams. Strong organizationalskills with the ability to efficiently plan and manage workload. Adedicated commitment to high-quality work with a positive attitudeand strong work ethic.
Physical Demands:
Ability to hike moderatedistances through unimproved terrain and walk across unevensurfaces. Ability to detect potential hazards during fieldwork orsite visits. Must complete a pre-employment drug screening.
