Project Engineer Position Available In Franklin, Missouri

Project Engineer K.J. Unnerstall Construction Company Washington, MO 63090 We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our team in the civil construction sector. The Project Engineer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting the execution of construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, and managing construction projects from start to finish. Prepare and review project documentation including blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications. Coordinate with architects, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel. Monitor site progress, quality, and safety compliance. Manage material submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and change orders. Perform site inspections and maintain daily project reports. Help in preparing project budgets, cost estimates, and quantity take-offs. Ensure all work complies with local building codes, standards, and environmental regulations. Support procurement and logistics for project resources and equipment. Assist in resolving technical issues and provide engineering solutions during construction. Participate in project meetings and prepare progress reports and documentation.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. Proficient in MS Project/Primavera, and MS Office Suite. Knowledge of construction methods, AutoCAD, materials, and regulations. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred:

Experience with large-scale infrastructure or commercial/residential construction projects. Familiarity with safety and quality management systems. Professional Engineering (PE) certification or equivalent is a plus.

Work Environment:

Primarily based on-site with occasional office-based tasks. Requires travel to project locations in and around Franklin County.
