Job Description
Join Olsson’s Bridge team as a Senior Engineer, making a significant impact on the success of our growth in Missouri as we continue to expand our footprint to St. Louis! Our Bridge group works on a wide range of projects including bridge and retaining walls, dams, storm and traffic structures, inspections, rehabilitations, load ratings, and assisting with construction engineering services. We facilitate designs on transportation projects that include grade separations, interchanges, and stream crossings for public and private clients throughout the Midwest.
As a Senior Engineer, you will spreadhead technical excellence, serving as the lead engineer and trusted advisor on intricate projects. Your responsibilities will extend to providing high-level technical design, overseeing quality assurance/control, and managing projects with a keen eye on scope, schedule, and budget. You will not only review contracts and champion efficiency in producing top-notch work but will also curate technical resources, fostering an environment of continuous improvement. There will also be opportunity to provide guidance to less experienced staff, contribute to team building, and engage in client relations.

Primary Responsibilities
Provides high-level project design and review of project documents and design quality for complex projects.
Serves as a technical specialist, applying advanced engineering concepts and developing approaches to solve for complexities.
Performs QA/QC and ensures delivery of completed designs meets quality standards and project objectives.
Conducts research in areas of considerable scope and complexity.
Advises and directs staff on design approaches to fulfill project requirements.
Works collaboratively to promote efficiencies and produce high quality work.
Contributes to the development of standards and/or guidelines for engineering activities within the team.
Supervises, mentors, and reviews technical assignments of less experienced staff.

Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to contribute and work well on a team
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering Master’s degree, or in pursuit, a plus
8+ years of relevant engineering experience
Must be a registered Professional Engineer (PE)
Experience with
AASHTO LRFD
Bridge Design
Experience with bridge analysis and design programs (LARSA, LEAP Bridge Expertise, Lpile, SPColumn, or MDX)
Expertise with MoDOT bridge projects
Familiarity with MicroStation software
