Telamon Corporation Position:

Project Engineer II Responsiblefor the design, layout, and structural analysis of new or existingcommunication structures for wireless telecommunication sites(towers, mounts, buildings, foundations, rooftops, etc.). Focus onstructural engineering and architecture and engineering (AE) designresponsibilities.

Specific duties:

(1) Prepare formal writtenreports for clients summarizing results and recommending actions;(2) Perform calculations based on engineering principles andbuilding code requirements; (3) Work collaboratively with theStructural and A&E group to prepare, draft, and reviewstructural and AE drawings; (4) Perform basic CAD tasks includingstructural modification and construction drawings for zoningpurposes; (5) Coordinate with AE team members for moderate toadvanced CAD projects to ensure that structural designs andconstruction drawings are accurately represented; (6) Ensureaccurate project status tracking to facilitate project managementreporting; (7) Perform structural analyses of communication towers,antenna mounts, and related structures pursuant to governingbuilding codes and standards; (8) Utilize a variety of engineeringsoftware including both specialized and general-purpose finiteelement analysis (FEA) programs; (9) Design basic structuralmodifications to increase capacity of structures when required peranalysis; (10) Assist senior engineers in designing efficientstructural modifications to increase capacity of structures andfoundations when required per analysis; (11) Revise constructiondrawings per customer and internal redlines; (12) Develop afamiliarity with individual client requirements in order to adaptto client preferences as needed; (13) Perform detailed checking andredlines work performed on projects under their direct supervision;(14) Manage timelines and deliverable quality on small projectswith the assistance of the Engineering Manager/AE Manager; (15)Assist senior engineers in completing engineered designs forconcrete pads and equipment mounting frames; and (16) Utilizespecialized and general-purpose finite element analysis (FEA)programs with proficiency in

RISA-3D, TNX

Tower, or a similarfinite software suite. Less than 5% domestic travel required tovisit job sites or meet with clients. This position requires aBachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or a relatedfield and 3 years related experience. Must also have 3 years ofdemonstrated experience with each of the following: 1) Performingstructural analyses and structural modifications for variety oftelecommunications structures including towers, tower antennamounts, rooftop applications, and small cell / utility structures;2) Performing structural calculations for applications includingsteel frames, advanced steel connections, anchorage design, andreinforced concrete foundations based on engineering principles andassociated building code requirements, leveraging experience ofcurrent and past building codes and associated engineeringstandards as applicable to the telecom industry; 3) Utilizing bothspecialized and general-purpose finite element analysis (FEA)programs, including RISA 3D and TNX Tower; 4) Preparing technicalreports of engineering analyses summarizing results, supplyingrecommendations, and professional engineering opinions for clientassets that are sufficient for EOR standards; and 5) Creatingstructural modification designs for existing structures, includingdefining scope of work to be performed, curating a bill ofmaterials, and supplying design references for initial hand-off todrafting associates. Employer will accept experience gainedconcurrently. Full-time, position located in Raleigh, NC.
