Structural Project Engineer Job Description We are seeking a Structural Project Engineer with 5 to 9 years of experience in the design of building structures. Licensed structural PEs or engineers-in-training nearing licensure will be considered for this position. The role involves executing structural design calculations, developing plans and details, coordinating with clients and project design teams, and overseeing construction administration. You will work alongside the firm’s partners on unique and complex projects, providing you with tremendous opportunities to gain expertise and broaden your experience. Depending on your experience, you will evolve to independently manage and design projects, acting as the engineer of record. Experience in designing mid-rise structures using steel, post-tensioned concrete, and mass timber is preferred. You will also assist with developing and implementing the firm’s engineering, modeling, and drawing standards. This position requires collaboration with a team of Structural Engineers and Project Managers, and a client-focused attitude is crucial. Responsibilities Perform structural computations in the design and analysis of concrete, steel, or other miscellaneous structures. Create analysis models and interpret results for 2D and 3D structural frames. Assist with construction administrative tasks, including site visits and shop drawing reviews. Understand load paths for gravity and lateral loads and calculate applicable loads based on appropriate building codes. Assist with design drawings, quantities, cost estimates, specifications, reports, and other project deliverables while working with the structures team. Prepare technical studies and reports. Essential Skills Structural engineering expertise. Proficiency in Revit for structural design. Experience in structural analysis and project management. Ability to perform calculations and construction administration tasks. 4-8 years of experience in the field. P.E. license in your resident state. Additional Skills & Qualifications Master’s in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering. Experience with Revit, Rhino, or similar software is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills.
